Firstly…Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Easter! It has literally been that long, but you know how it is…life…writer’s block etc. In truth I didn’t completely stop writing, I just relocated my musings to a more abstract and free-writing space, another blog of mine www.inpursuitofequilibrium.tumblr.com – follow if you wish.
Now to cut to the chase – an approach that the older I get, the quicker I am employing it, and the more I appreciate those who don’t dibble and dabble in unnecessary waffle,
expect shorter blog posts…maybe…
…this post is about what’s piqued my audio interest. It’s funny because I used to have a job where a significant proportion of each week was to produce, record, edit, and research podcasts. Was I listening to any at that point in time? Zip zero. Nada. Now if you’ve been following this blog awhile, you’ll know that I am the TV show fiend of fiends, I am basically the human embodiment of Sidereel. When it came to podcasts though, I was highly unmotivated to engage with any. Even after several recommendations of Serial.
No faffing around this time about the concept of afternoon tea versus the reality and where to get the deals. Y’all should know that by now. If perchance though you missed out on the last post, update yourself here.
Now to the nitty gritty.
Courtesy of Travelzoo, myself and a friend visited Momo restaurant this past weekend for a touch of Moroccan Afternoon Tea. I’ll admit I was marginally apprehensive due to my last recent experience of a less than impressive afternoon tea, and because I have no idea what Moroccan food is like. I am someone who is deeply hesitant about trying new food; in fact it almost has to be by force to get me to veer off my usual regimes. I thought to myself, if it includes things like Turkish Delight (to me that was a very reasonable assumption to make. Don’t judge me. I am actually fantastic at geography), I’m not going to like it. So that was my one prayer really going into the place – let there be no Turkish Delight.
Seems like that prayer reached the pearly gates. Read on after the pictures to get the review:
I’m not going to spend a whole paragraph telling you what these shows are about…because to be honest there’s IMDb for that. What I am going to do is tell you why you should watch them.
Cutting right to the chase
As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of virtually all shows that are American and worth watching, these three shows have me wanting to shout on rooftops for these key reasons:
I read this book having already watched the film about a year before. It has been a sort of habit of mine that if I do watch a film and I’m impressed by it, I will read the book too out of interest to see how purely the storyline has been adhered to. Or just for fun. Needless to say, I loved the film when I saw it, and so I was excited to read the book.
